The Campground

Encore Sherwood Forest offers a nice balance between convenience and comfort. It’s tucked away just enough from the main road to feel relaxed, while still keeping you close to everything Kissimmee has to offer.

Check-in is quick and easy. Pull in, head to the office, provide your info, and you are on your way to your site within minutes.

As you enter the park, you’re greeted with a lot of trees surrounding the property. Once you get to your site, the campground opens up more, with trees mainly around the perimeter and a few scattered throughout.

Our site was a grass site with a concrete patio slab. It was clean, full hookup, and gave us a comfortable setup for our stay.

  • Level: Good enough

  • Spacing: Good

  • Access: Easy (mostly pull-through sites)

The campground layout is simple and easy to navigate, making it stress-free whether you’re arriving or heading out for the day.

During our stay, the overall vibe was relaxed. Even though you are in a busy tourist area, the campground itself stays fairly quiet, especially in the evenings.

Amenities include:

  • Mini golf

  • Playground

  • Basketball court

  • Game room

  • Horseshoes & shuffleboard

  • Swimming pool & hot tub

  • Laundry facilities

  • Restrooms & showers

  • Clubhouse

  • Dog park

We spent most of our time at the pool and hot tub, and one thing that stood out was how clean that entire area was kept.

One thing worth noting:
There were a few older or run-down RVs scattered throughout the park, which slightly took away from the overall appearance.

Local Eats

We mostly cooked at home during our stay, but there are tons of food options nearby.

We did bike over to a nearby Del Taco, and we also visited:

🍜 Osaka Bay Buffet
A clean and spacious Asian buffet with a wide selection of options.

Like most buffets, the quality can vary depending on how long food has been sitting, but overall it was a decent experience.

Would we go back?
Maybe.

The Drive & Area

The drive into the campground was easy and stress-free, even while towing.

All major roads leading to the park are wide (three lanes), and the entrance road is also easy to navigate with a large rig.

This is a busy tourist area, so expect traffic during peak times. Staying in the right lane and taking your time makes it much easier.

There is no shortage of things to do nearby:

  • Disney & Universal Studios

  • Disney Springs

  • CityWalk

  • Old Town

  • Celebration (a really charming town with shops and restaurants)

Celebration stood out the most. It has a welcoming town feel with homes close together, walkable streets, and a mix of shops and restaurants.

Connectivity

  • Carrier Tested: T-Mobile

  • Cell Signal: Strong

  • Speeds: Slower in the evenings due to congestion

  • Starlink: Excellent (clear, open sky)

This is a great campground for anyone working remotely. Everything was reliable overall.

Would We Stay Again?

Yes, and for the same reason.

We really enjoyed being close to everything the area has to offer while still having a place that felt relaxed at the end of the day.

Final Thoughts

This stop was not just about the campground. It ended up being memorable because of the people we met. We connected with some great individuals here that we still keep in touch with today.
